Trailer Review - Carnival Row (2019)
Something Inhuman Approaches
Now that GOT is forever over and ruined no thanks to D&D, it downed on me that there is no cool TV story to look forward to anymore.
That was until I stumbled upon Carnival Row this morning, yes I know it's just a very short teasers trailer, but I'm a massive fan of the whole fantasy genre. The story is based on a script by Travis Beacham, and for the most part of the writing, Guillermo del Toro was on board, but eventually left due to scheduling conflicts, so I really hope some of his creative decisions will still filter though in the final product.
There unfortunately is not much to go on regarding this show just yet, but it's essentially a brand new fantasy story with some awesome actors involved, which gives me some hope that it could be entertaining. I'm holding thumbs with this one, but if Game of Thrones has taught me anything, just prepare for disappointment, then if it's good it's a welcomed surprise. Carnival Row hits the small screen at the end of August this year.
"Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne star in "Carnival Row," a Victorian fantasy world filled with mythological immigrant creatures whose rich homelands were invaded by the empires of man. This growing immigrant population struggles to coexist with humans in the grimiest section of the city -- forbidden to live, love, or fly with freedom. But even in darkness, hope lives, as a human detective, Rycroft Philostrate, and a refugee faerie named Vignette Stonemoss rekindle a dangerous affair despite an increasingly intolerant society. Vignette harbors a secret that endangers Philo's standing during his most important case yet: a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the Row. As Philo investigates, he reveals a monster no one could imagine." - Amazon Studios
"When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a million pieces, and they all went skipping about. That was the beginning of fairies." - J. M. Barrie
Carnival Row gets an anticipated 8/10

This upcoming movie sounds really interesting, @morkrock!
With all these action movies coming out so far in 2019, judging by the Carnival Row's synopsis, with these characters the movie sounds like it's bringing a different storyline to the table compared to others in the past. After seeing so many action movies this year, a fantasy-genre movie would definitely be refreshing :) Thanks for sharing this with the community! We've just fully upvoted to you.

Hmmmmm. I hope it's better than the current offering "Good Omens". I watched two of those and, well. I like the plot line (Armageddon) but there are just too many gags to keep me watching. Ah well.
You might try Hannah from Prime. Modern fantasy with some shoot 'em up and good character development.
So, I'll at least give this a look-see when it comes.
