You Gonna Help Us Start A War?

Yet another unexpected find that turned out to be a really interesting watch, I really love these hidden gems.

I'm not going to give away too much on this, but the premise basically revolves around how the Mexican drug cartels are cashing in more on human trafficking than actual drug trafficking. The idea seems to be that human trafficking to get people across the border is far more profitable and at the same time they are able to also transport drugs. The illegal immigration issue has been a pretty hot topic in the last two years, and I found it rather strange that Hollywood would release this kind of film. The irony of what the film points out is probably completely lost on these heavily indoctrinated folks.

The film also goes into the idea of what the deep state is capable of doing and what they are probably doing in the background. The movie takes on a multitude of really serious issues, and when viewed from this broader perspective it chances our understanding of everything. This is kind of a sequel to the 2015 film Sicario, staring Emily Blunt who unfortunately didn't sign up for this second one. This follows a similar narrative, and would be good watch this before the second, both were good movies exploring a rather deep topic.

"In SICARIO, Day of the Soldado, the series begins a new chapter. In the drug war, there are no rules – and as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) calls on the mysterious Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), whose family was murdered by a cartel kingpin, to escalate the war in nefarious ways. Alejandro kidnaps the kingpin’s daughter to inflame the conflict – but when the girl is seen as collateral damage, her fate will come between the two men as they question everything they are fighting for." - Sony Pictures Entertainment

"How would you define terrorism? The current definition is, “Any individual or group that uses violence to achieve political goal.” The administration believes that the drug cartels fit that definition." - James Ridley

Looks like it could be a good one Mork.

The Mexican Cartels have learned what the Columbians never did and the Mafia learned way late. Dope lends itself to so many 'money making activities' in so many ways.

I smell a nice cia propaganda flick. Nothing like making a hero out of evil
