Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is a Fantasy/Sci-fi with a 2 hours 12 minutes run time. It was released in Nigeria on the 31st of May 2019. I saw it at Filmhouse Cinema last Friday and it literally blew me away. The battles of the Titans/Dinosaurs were gloriously wild and untamed! As a matter of fact, my heart raced all through the movie till the very end and I had to keep reminding myself to relax when I discovered that I had a tendency to sit at the edge of my chair and lean forward through the action scenes.

Even though the movie was more of monster creatures fighting, director Michael Dougherty sure did a great job presenting this story almost perfectly. Although the movie has got more fighting than people acting, the movie stars (Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds, O'Shea Jackson Jr., David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi) do an awesome job playing their parts to hilt to make the movie a resounding success as we can tell from the 93% google rating.

The movie is about the chaos that occurs when an organization of eco-terrorists put in motion a crazy plan to awaken monster Titans in a bid to cleanse the world of over population. They unwittingly unleash the three headed monster, King Ghidorah, whose agenda is entirely different from theirs. Ghidorah is an alpha dinosaur intent on controlling all other monsters and using them to destroy humanity. They will take over the earth if Ghidora's plans work and humanity's only hope is Godzilla, the only dinosaur with the capacity to defeat Ghidorah.
