Aquaman Horror Movie Spinoff Movie is in the Development

Horror might not be the number one thing that you think of when you see Aquaman, but it certainly have its moment. These are the moments that the spin-off movie will focus on. Yes, we are getting a Trench horror movie with none of the cast members from Aquaman. Well, horror-tinged, but I still count it as horror.

This is not a really big surprise, comic book movies with an extra genre are more popular and well accepted. Logan had western elements and Captain America: Winter Soldier had a spy movie elements in it and Wonder Woman was a World War I movie. New Mutants was went to be the first horror comic book movie, but it appears that it will not see the light of day.

Horror has been very profitable for WB with the Conjuring franchise and with IT. The head of the DCEU Walter Hamada came from the horror part of WB and now it appears he will bring some of the elements that he is most known for into the DCEU.

Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald will be writing the script. They have no previous writing experience so that's worrying. James Wan and Peter Safran will produce the movie. Peter Safran was a producer on Aquaman so that's a plus.

It will be interesting to see how this movie will be shaped. James Wan is not in a hurry to return for an Aquaman sequel, but looks like we'll be going underwater nevertheless.
