When strong man cries...

Men are not supposed to cry and the stronger he gets, he mustn't even cry because, it will be interpreted as an act of weakness. I have seen to many strong men die in their spirit before the spiritual death.
They never took time out to mourn, or shed the much needed tears when they were on pain. They always left everything to chance and fate explaining some silly macho fantasy.

My friend is a strong man and has always been. He has done everything in his power to make people around him feel secured and protected and all he ever gets in return is, neglect and disappointments in the highest degrees.
He spent the beginning of his career having sleepless nights and hungry days just to make sure he provided support to all and sundry. He rejected offers to sell out to new projects because he feared the community which he is responsible for will suffer. He prayed and spent hard earned monies to ensure those around him felt protected and catered for, and had no one to do the same for him.

Right now, he lives more in regret than in joy knowing that, he could haven had it all for himself if only he thought more about himself first.
Right now, he is trying to cry but cannot. He wants to cry, but the world tells him not to because they still see him as a strong man whose responsibility it is to cater for others instead of himself.

I think it is time we look out for ourselves first than for others so we are able to stay sane.

I feel for my friend because he is sad and has lost out on so many opportunities because he chose community. I feel for my friend because the people he thought he was working for have all dumped him to fend for himself. He has lost everything and now, wishes he didn't do for others before himself.
