A-Melodic Minor Substitution.
Hi Steemit jazz and blues lovers.
I decided to do a little something different here. Please note the guitar is tuned a semi-tone down from standard so it will not sound A-minor but for learning all one need do is tune the guitar down to E-flat, etc..and you should be good to go.
This is really all about The Altered Dominant scale. In this case we are using A-Flat dom. 7 (the V of D-flat minor) and altering it via the Altered Dominant scale or its parent scale A-melodic minor. Every chord from every degree can substitute for the A-flat 7 which resolves to the tonic minor.
It's the beginning of understanding jazz theory.
