Here is a list of some amazing African rappers who really spit on the beats, unfortunately the Music Industry doesn't want to carry them along.

6 AMAZING BUT UNPOPULAR AFRICAN RAPPERS

#1. Una Rams

image

Una Rams Is an amazing South African rapper.
Una Rams sings more than he raps. He’s also a great producer, and his self-produced single, the somber “Nobody” from his EP Pink Moon , has great potential, specially considering it’s a fitting soundtrack for the winter. The artist, who’s currently based in Pretoria, is an anomaly–his music combines hip-hop, soul and dancehall vocals. Earlier this year, he got a huge co-sign from house music maestro Black Coffee . With South African hip-hop incorporating more and more singing, Una Rams should be here to stay.

#2. Trod

image

Trod is a Nigerian rapper. He raps using the Yoruba dialect.
He announced his venture into the Nigerian music industry by making a statement of intent. He did it with just a few menacing words:
“I’m coming for my brothers throne, I want the crown back”
You might be asking “who is Trod?” He is the younger brother of the late Dagrin. Now you know his angle, you understand where he is coming from. However such statements need to be backed up. So far we have no concrete information on him. But if he truly has Dagrin’s DNA, then he’s one of the top upcoming Yoruba rappers everyone needs to watch out for.

#3. Davolee

image

Davolee is also a Nigerian rapper who raps with the Yoruba language.
Olamide has a good ear. He knows how to invest his money by signing fresh Yoruba rappers like Davolee. The artiste put pent to paper on a deal for YBNL. Davolee has also dyed his hair golden. The young Ikotun rap artiste is a great story teller and he demonstrated that on his festival bar.
Davolee is known to command any song he steps on and this was no different. However with no hit singles in 2017, YNBL and fans of fresh Yoruba rap alike are a bit disappointed.
He Already has YNBL’s support which gives him a lot of potential fans. 2018 can be a great breakout year for him if he prepares well.

#4. Tipsy

Tipsy is another Yoruba rapper. She is an amazing rapper and also the only female rapper on my list.
Arguably the Queen of Yoruba rap. She is no newcomer but I like to classify her as an upcoming Yoruba rapper. Shed yet to fulfill the great billing we’ve place on her. Tipsy is the Yoruba version of Splash; the Igbo rapper.
Its nice to see a Lady on the list. Even though she’s been around for a couple of years, we all need to watch out for her still.

#5. Frank Casino

image

Frank Casino is a South African rapper who clearly knows his way with the beats.
Frank Casino made an appearance on one of the biggest songs of 2016, “ Mayo ” by DJ Speedsta . He also caught the attention of Riky Rick , who jumped on the remix of his single “The Whole Thang.” Riky recently featured the rapper on a song called “Family” from his three-track EP Scooby Snacks . He also appears on PH’s latest album. Frank Casino has the ability to captivate his listener with his authoritative vocal projection and delivery, so much that it doesn’t matter what he’s rapping about. His EP
Something From Me , released last year, was a good offering showcasing what the rapper from the East Rand in Joburg is about—sauce, charisma, catchy hooks, and a great ear for beats.

#6. Master Kiii

Master Kiii is a South African rapper.
At 17, Cape Town dungeon rapper Master Kiii is an anomaly. He’s inspired by an era that was popping when he wasn’t even born, and that’s the 90s. His music is strictly boom bap, and he laces those soulful beats with smooth flows and slick wordplay. His lyrics are replete with anime references, and weed is clearly a great part of his life. Hoodgeeks , his EP from last year, is a true gift for the boom bap he
ad, who feels starved of that type of hip-hop in the 21st century. Kiii’s part of a group of like-minded hip-hop heads called Down South Natives , which consists of insufferable golden era hip-hop enthusiasts, who are inspired by Wu Tang Clan and
Pro Era. Tired of mumble rap and trap? Kiii is your guy.

And that completes the list. 6 upcoming African rappers as promised. You can go ahead and download their songs now.
