When I was playing Bass in the Band "Thor", I was reading about this American Band playing in full makeup, first albums got nowhere and then the release of" Alive" a Double Album ( to reproduce the live show excitement) and off they went !
To date over 75 Million Album sales.
Remember , no TV in the 70's , I read avidly in Music Magazines , they played all Originals ( read that they were not good enough to do Covers?), they certainly did justice to their own material!
Kiss started touring smaller places where no other Bands went , and built up a massive KISS Army of Fans!
Very Smart and Savvy and in a short while the Bands that they had been opening For were opening for Them!
Do You Love Me
The first number by them that Thor played was "Detroit Rock City", followed shortly by "Do You Love Me", certainly no lack of songwriting skills in that Band!
and their songs went down well in our live sets too!
So along comes Disco music all the Rock Bands are getting a bit worried , what do KISS do?, Paul Stanley goes out and writes " I was made for Loving You" and outdoes the Disco Fraternity at their own Game!

Like many successful Bands that have been going for a long time there have been Personnel changes.
The Nucleus of Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have stayed constant!

never understood or got Kiss - thought they were all glitz and marketing and yet they attracted a loyal following. Didn't like Gene Simmons much when he was on Celebrity Apprentice, but that show also undermined my appreciation of several other celebs who went on it
Never watched those Celebrity apprentice Shows, he is certainly opinionated. I judge them by the Music and, to me, they had a lot of good songs.
