Well it has been a while since I have written one of these Author Showcase posts! Our regular writers are now @elfranz and @zoexantelamv. Unfortunately they are both located in Venezuela which is going through a major crisis. The lack of power and internet has gotten much worse in recent days (not to mention necessities like food and water.) I will be writing the Showcases when they aren't available. Hopefully they will be able to return soon. Please keep them in your thoughts.

Due to short notice and some personal time constraints this Showcase will be a little shorter than normal, but I wanted to make sure we got the chance to feature some of these great authors.

Today's showcase is filled with many wonderful sights and "sounds". I hope you enjoy it and all the featured authors.

We start off the Author Showcase with this new music video. Even though you might not understand the words of the song because it is in another language you will find yourself dancing in your chair as you listen to it. It is such an upbeat song that you just won't be able to resist.

While our author, @steffan is usually making and performing his own music here on the blockchain, this time around he is the man behind the camera here for parts of this video while his brother "Rootquist" and friend Michi are the ones singing and enjoying their day at the beach. Along the way some other friends jump in with some great dance breaks.

Man vs. Nature | Photo-blog.

Next up we head off to the Himalaya Mountains, but the author, @himalayannomad's focus isn't on the mountains, but instead on the trees that grow there.

They do manage to capture the beauty of the mountains though. They also share how the villagers use the trees to not only sustain them financially, but also to help them through the harsh winters in the area. It is very interesting to learn how they take down the trees.

@himalayannomad left their management job and home three years ago to spend time with the nature and learn meditation. Along the way they discovered their passion for photography and storytelling, and are now sharing it with us here on the platform.

Above I have shared my two favorite photos from the post. First we have the tranquil looking snow covered village. It just looks so peaceful and serene. The second photo shows a very unique look that some of the trees have. I really do wonder why they only grow the canopy way at the top and nowhere else on the trunk. As mentioned by the author, I am sure the birds really enjoy the safety provided by these unusual looking trees. Of course, this photo also shows off the majestic mountains as well.

🎭🎈My Life's Journey - Carneval in Sora, Italy through my photos and videos - Guess who is the famous person?lol 🎈🎭

Last week, all around the world Mardi Gras and Carnivale celebrations came to a close. @awakentolife attended the celebration in a small town about 2 hours outside of Rome, Italy named Sora. Luckily for us they captured many great photos. There were so many colors and lots of floats to be seen. Some of the floats were a bit more unusual than others, like the one done in the likeness of U.S. President Donald Trump.

While the author points out it is a small town, it certainly looks like every resident, and many out-of-towners came out for the festivities.

Next up we have another music video, this one however is entirely different than the one above. Actually, it is likely different than anything most of you have seen. I love how this artist edits it all together for a one of a kind experience with a guest appearance by this cute little dog with great rhythm.

Sound

As I often do when I am writing the Showcase, I will be closing it out with a great fiction post. This one is actually a micro fiction story that was written as part of the #freewritehouse March Madness contest. the one word prompt for the day was, "Sound". It was day four of the contest which is trying to get authors to write a book in the month of March. If you haven't already you should go check it out. @freewritehouse also runs a number of other contests that might interest you. Even if you aren't a writer you will find lots of great stories to read while you are there.

As usual I won't give away any of the great story by the talented and frequent writer here on the blockchain @kimberlylane.
