2017 Metal Album Review, but in 2018?? - "Disomus" by Through the Eyes of the DeadsteemCreated with Sketch.

Formed in 2003, and with no general conception that they would become as successful as they have since then, Through the Eyes of the Dead have left a staple in both the deathcore and death metal genres. Having been so heavily influenced by them myself as a musician (their 2007 album, "Malice", in particular), I felt it absolutely necessary to post a review on their latest release, which came out back in October.

There was always something unique about their style of death metal, and "Disomus" is just yet another representation of that. While many of their influences can be prominently pointed out through their songwriting style, they have also managed to obtain a sound all their own, with such a ferocity in the instrumentals, as well as a wide range of highs and lows in their vocal palate. Influences by many of the greats, including Cannibal Corpse (if you couldn't already tell by simply reading their band name, which was openly admitted by the band as a piece of phrase taken from CC's song title "Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead") may have laid the foundation for the band, but it was in their perseverance to do whatever instrumentally and vocally necessary to keep their evolution going that really solidified them within the pantheon of the new age of death metal.

"Hate the Living"

"Obitual"

"Vortices in the Stygian Maelstrom"

"Teras" (feat. Nate Johnson, former vocalist for TTEOTD, who appeared on their 2007 album "Malice", my favorite album by them)

Till next time, Steemit.

Thanks man. It feels good to be back.... the situation among my two jobs are finally easing up, so I'll hopefully have more time to devote to being on here more often. Definitely wanna continue with these album review posts, people seem to like them haha. Might even put up some lyrics I've been working on for the band. :)
