Rotting Christ „The Heretics”

Although it is not always painful and unpleasant. I liked the previous release and still like it. The new one is not bad either.... Let's start with the fact that "The Heretics" takes a light turn in comparison to the road marked for "Rituals". Previously it was more exotic, now we have a return to the old, good anti-Christianism. Musically we know: the Greeks will not surprise us with anything extraordinary. The style they created years ago is still being explored. I associate "The Heretics" with the period between "Theogonia" and "Aealo". There is a lot of sublimity known from these records. Although I emphasize once again: the wheels have not been reinvented here. But let's go back to "The Heretics". It is a classic of their sound and their style. Although, of course, interesting solutions are introduced to their music. We know: nihil novi. But.... Women's vocals in "Vetera zlye (Ветры злые)" I think that they work quite well. Generally, the so called, pure vocals scrolls through this album a lot. Whether it's choirs or recitations. That's the style and that's the concept. This is understandable. It doesn't bother me personally, but there are people who will probably vomit breakfast because of it. From the numbers that I like, I will mention: "Fire God and Fear" classic "strong" version of Rotting Christ. If they recorded the whole question in this pattern, it would be great! "The New Messiah", here in turn, differently, slower, more stuffy. I like these deep choral vocals. The song "The Raven" closes the album in an interesting way. Apparently classic, but very melodious, even rock... And that's how it looks in short. Does this album have a right to like it? It has. Does it have the right to arouse disgust among orthodox black metal fans? He has. Personally, however, I think that "The Heretics" has something in it. Despite the fact that this is not the best album in Rotting Christ's oeuvre.
