Scum Fuck Flower Boy by Tyler Okonma

Normally shortened as Flower Boy. The album is structure in 14 songs. In this, we can appreciate a different style of music at every song. Is a record that bring the most emotional, passionate and real part of Tyler with lyrics that transmit the perception of a person who has gone through many stages, many of them not really good but who never have been decayed for his environment. Let's talk a little about Tyler's life

Born in march 6, 1991 at Ladera Heights, California, Tyler is a musician, rapper, music video producer and the main leader of the collective group (who's one of the founders) of alternative hip-hop Odd Future. Also he designe all the artwork for the group and the clothes that sells. Golf Wang is the name of the clothing company started in 2010 by him. The name is a spoonerism of Wolf Gang. Usually, Tyler calls himself as Wolf, who is his alter ego in many records that he make. That will be subject for another post.

Left by her dad, Tyler always has been in the right spot for coming true his dreams. He never let that concern her, so he do make jokes about what in life for he is wrong, is stupid or just make fun. He is a complicated person who also give his 100% for make music because he loves sound, he loves make music .

Flower Boy is the fourth studio album that Tyler make and for me (and for many people) is his best work. In there, Tyler shows face that he was giving from the past, bringing the sound over the rap. He will prefer just make a piece of music with some beats and really good chords that make a rap without sense, like others rappers.

For me, the lyrics of the album touch many subjects like his personal life, the materialism of the rappers of today, his sexuality (he makes jokes about it), the happiness, the sadness, the love that he want to receive and more. For example, in the track 2, Where this flower blooms, he rap about that he is what he want to be and no one can tell her anything. "Tell these black kids they could be who they are. Dye your hair blue, shit, I'll do it too".

In track 5, Who Dat Boy, Tyler shows his face of fierce and power. He bring a strong beat and a lyrics that expose the good at the time, in counterpart of 911/Mr. Lonely that shows a Tyler sad for the concept of his loneliness, where he say "I'm the loneliest man alive, but I keep on dancin' to throw 'em off" in contrast with the Who Dat Boy lyric that say "Fuck the rap, I'm tryna own a planet from my other fuckin' business ventures", where he reflects that he's in many sides of the business life.

The album also brings songs that show the love that Tyler want to receive and is inside of him. See you again and Glitter for me are the to perfect songs to dedicate to a great love because the lyrics are for that special person who we want to be there with us.

For last, just for let that you steemians have the joy of discovering the deep thoughts for yourselfs, I write about Garden Shed (for me, one of the best songs of the album). In Garden Shed, track 7 of the record, Tyler raps about his sexuality in a very discreet way, saying "garden shed for the garden, that is where I was hidin', that is what love I was I in ain't no reason to pretend". Tyler say in a interview that he have a boyfriend when he was 15, later he say that was in a figurative way. He subject of his sexuality is a constant in his lyrics through his albums. Specially I keep with the chorus that say:
"Don't kill the rose
Boy, it could bloom
fly, baby, fly
Out the cocoon"

The music of this specific song brings me joy, because the chords, the slow beat and simply and beautiful way that Tyler is saying Be yourself
