Ария (Aria) Black Metal - Russia

in #music6 years ago
The translated name of the bands is "Aria" and they are one of the most veteran bands of their country. They debuted in 1985 and they have never stopped, all the songs of the bands are sung and written in Russian but that has not prevented them from getting some recognition international. They have released thirteen studio albums and a lot of live material, the sound of the band is Heavy Metal very inspired by British bands and their lyrics talk about religion, motorcycles, war and metal (or at least that's what Internet JA says) does not have a iconic disk but they are an ideal band to get out of the routine.

Aria is one of the best Heavy Metal bands from around the planet. This band was formed in Moscow in 1985 and many think they are the pioneers of Russian metal but in reality they are not, what they are, is the first band to play heavy metal in media coverage in the former Soviet Union.

Aria is among the ten most popular bands in all Russia, its sound is influenced by the nwobhm and always had that label of "the Russian Iron Maiden" The lyrics of the band always revolve around the story and very influenced by local poets such as Margaret Pushkin and Alexander Yelin.

The band was formed by Vladimir Holstinin and Alik Granovsky, two former members of the Alpha group that had dissolved in 1985, this was a pop rock group but Holstinin wanted to do something much more powerful, move to Heavy Metal.

In 1985 they had prepared the material to edit the first album but they needed to find a singer, their manager recommended them to Valery Kipelov, who became the singer of the band and in the not too distant future, one of the best singers of the band. Russian metal.

On October 31, 85, his first album, Megalomania, was released. Those were difficult times in the Soviet Union where metal was frowned upon by communism. It was considered to this dangerous musical style, a link that could channel the frustration of young people, something fruit of capitalism and the few bands that practiced this style did so with great caution and in unannounced concerts.

In Megalomania Holstinin shares band with Alexander Lvov on drums and Pokrovsky on keyboards, signed a second guitarist for live shows, arrives at the band Bolshakov. The first live concert of the band was on February 5, 86 in Dk Mai, from there they would play a metal festival in Lithuania.

The popularity of the band is growing and Perestroika and its winds of change are also advancing. In November of the 86 the band publishes its second work "Who are you With?" After the Tour, Granovsky, Bolshakov and Vekstein leave the band to form the band of Thrash metal, Master of which also we will speak to you in his day.

Sergey Mavrin as second guitarist and Maxim Udalov on drums joined the band. This was the most stable formation of the band and with it it reached the success, mainly with the arrival of its third work in August of the 87, Hero of Asphalt ... I am putting the titles to them translated to the English because they sing in Russian.

For the fans the Hero of Asphalt is the best album of the band, this was the first album they published for the Melodiya label, at that time it was the most powerful label of all the Soviet Union. The album sold more than a million copies and they made their first videoclip, the tour lasted two years.

In 1988 a new conflict breaks out in the bosom of the band, Udalov leaves the Aria because he does not support the manager of the band. With these bad rolls are planted again in the recording studio to edit Playing with Fire in 1989.

The changes in Aria were always constant, in 1990 they left the band Dubinin and Mavrin joining forces in a new band called Lion Heart, they came to offer concerts in Munich. With new changes, the band recorded their fifth album, Blood for Blood in 1991 ... the first five albums of the band are their golden age.

In 1990 the activity of the band is reduced considerably. Fed up with his label signed by Moroz Records. In 1994 they turned out of Russia for the first time, acting for German lands during two weeks, arriving to act in the mythical Hard Rock Cafe Berlin.

This minigira for German lands caused havoc within the band, again burst civil war between the members of the band and also with their manager. When the tour ended, Kipelov left the band just when they had prepared the material to edit their sixth album, for a month he left the band and joined the great rivals of the Aria, the Masters.

Kipelov risked receiving a strong sanction from the label Moroz Records if he did not return to record the album, had a signed contract and has no choice but to return reluctantly, although the relationship with his teammates of Aria was already completely broken . The sixth album "Night is Shorter than Day" was released in September 1995.

In 1995 they made a couple of concerts in Moscow and recorded their first live album "Made in Russia". In 1997 Kipelov and Mavrin join forces and form the Dark Ages duo. The new guitarist of the Aria, Terentiev happens to occupy an important roll and collaborates in all the compositions and letters, thus the following albums of the band arise as they were Generator of Evil and Chimera, with this last album, they managed for the first time to sound in the American radios.

In 2001 the Arias played with an orchestra for the first time at the Nasheestvie Festival, they thought about recording a symphonic album but it was not finally carried out. Again during this Tour the bad rolls reappeared. The leader of the band, Holstinin already had material for a new album but Kipelov refuses to sing and leaves the band definitively to start his solo career.

In November 2002 the Aryans are reborn from their ashes and announce new formation. Segey Popov becomes the second guitarist, came from the Masters and Arthur Berkut, nicknamed Golden Eagle becomes the new guitarist. In December of that year they published a promotional single and then his new work "Baptism by Fire". With this album they achieved a great success with the themes "Coliseum" and "Baptism by Fire" being the number one in sales in Russia and the border countries. In spite of everything, the fans never accepted to Berkut like singer considering it very inferior to Kipelov.

In 2005 the band celebrated its 20th anniversary with a Tour of Russia, where they toured with the Master and in which Sergey Mavrin was invited to play the guitar, Kipelov was also invited but rejected the offer.

In 2006 he released his new work, Armaggedon for the cd Maximum label, was the debut of Berkut as a composer. In 2008, Kipelov and Mavrin agreed to meet Aria for a tour to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Hero of Asphalt.

In 2011 Berkut leaves the band and his place as a singer is occupied by Mikhail Zhitnyakov who came from the Grand Courage band. With this new singer they made two more studio albums: Phoenix, which received excellent reviews and Through All Times, the band is more active than ever.
