The Beatles - Step Inside Love (Studio Jam)

It's been a hot minute

since we had a Beatles tune on here, and considering how often I was sharing them, we're definitely long overdue. I always feel odd about writing a biography about them, but it's sort of the tradition with those posts, so just in case you somehow haven't heard of them... The Beatles were formed in 1960 in Liverpool, England by Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison, with Ringo Starr joining a bit later. This lineup never changed until the band's break up in 1970. While they began as a teen-pop band, part of the "rock and roll" trend, they grew and evolved as musicians, eventually becoming one of, if not the, most important band of all time, helping to make rock music a true art form.

Listen to Step Inside Love (Studio Jam) by The Beatles here.

This is a little studio jam

of a song that Paul McCartney wrote for singer Cilia Black, which she later would record, though with some slight changes, and different instrumentation. I love the progression, the chorus uses a really simple little line, from our tonic of Dmajor, down to the bVii, Cmajor, then to Gmajor (the IV). However, the Verse is where things get really interesting, with the jazzy/bossa nova chord progression. Paul moves from our tonic down to an Amin7, then Ab7, Gmajor, Gmin7, Gb7, then F, G, A-A7, and back to the Chorus. Super cool!

Hope you enjoy today's song! Thanks for checking out my blog, and Steem On!
