'(That Lady Shaved Her Beard) On Christmas' - Original Music/Demo for My Friend's Short Film Project! Rock/Pop/Christmas Instrumental + Walkthrough!
Many years ago,
around the time I had formed my old band, The Steaks, my friend Zach was working on a YouTube music video/short film and wanted myself and Ben (the other guitarist of the Steaks) to write the music. The basic idea was that there was a bearded lady who never shaved her beard and hated Christmas, who is visited by Jesus and Santa, who take her to have her beard shaved, resulting in a Christmas miracle and her becoming a fan of Christmas (sort of a twist on Scrooge). Ben and I spent a lot of time writing this song, and this recording is a demo version, and is unfortunately the only version we have.

We ran out of time to actually record
the full song, as things were pretty disorganized on the video end, so they wound up recording vocals over this version. I think this demo gets the general idea across, but has some mistakes, and parts where we fudged the beat because someone played something a bit off. However, harmonically I am still really proud of this song. We change keys during Verses, and into Choruses, along with the Break.

The Chorus features some violin
by my friend Julian, which was actually going to be a string quartet, but obviously we never got that far since we were forced to use the demo for the final video. The actual video wound up being rushed and not produced particularly efficiently so it definitely was a disappointment, since we spent SO much time really working on writing a good piece of music. One day it would be nice to re-record this in a real studio, and maybe have a new video made, that would be a lot of fun and would finally do justice to the effort we put in, lol.
