7-Day Music Challenge : Your Top Albums #1 Fates Warning : Parallels

Another day , another challenge. That is great cause I love challenges.

And since it is a music challenge, I love it even more.

Thanks @tkappa for making this challenge and everybody who nominated me.

Top albums … Number one , two and three would be easy, haven’t changed over the years. But after that I have to think it over. Music taste changes , people change and you hear new stuff that sometimes replace what you used to listen.

Anyway , this is my all time favorite album and a perfect one in my opinion.

FATES WARNING – PARALLELS

Fates Warning is an American progressive metal band that was founded in 1982 by Jim Matheos ( he is also half Greek ) in Hartford, Connecticut.

A pioneer of the progressive metal movement, Fates Warning is often credited as one of the so called "Big Three" of the genre, along with Queensrÿche and Dream Theater.

Parallels is their sixth studio album, released on October 29, 1991 through Metal Blade Records.

It features their most known song “Point of View” and it is their most commercially successful record.

This possibly due to the fact that it is so “prog” as their previous releases and the songs are more easy to listen.

Lyrics were always a strong point of Fates Warning. This album is no exception. It talks about frustration of human relationships and was inspired by the bad relations of band members during that time. If you have the time spend some time discovering the lyrics of each song.
