Bash in the Grass! A small, yet EPIC music festival in rural Missouri (Photos + Videos)

This past weekend, our band Sideways Geoffrey, was proud to hit the stage at a locally funded and organized music festival about 2 hours from our hometown!!!

This two-day festival was held at a countryside event center called Bubbling Brooks Farm in Crane, Missouri. Some very dedicated members of the music community pulled together around 28 bands for a weekend full of music, camping, laughter, and fun!

The turnout was very small compared to what was expected, but that was definitely due to the bad weather.

It rained the entire weekend, but that didn’t stop everyone from uniting for a common love of music! Although the main stage was covered, the crowd (mainly comprised of the 28 bands and friends) came together to listen, dance, and enjoy music in the rain.

Everyone dropped all aesthetic concepts to dance and jam out in their ponchos, rain boots, and umbrellas! I wish we could have gotten more photos, of the first night when it was really raining but we were truly enjoying the moments and having fun 🙂

The guys from Action Kick Johnny and their friends organized this entire event. The festival started midday on Friday and we arrived late Friday night just in time to catch AKJ and a few other bands! This video was taken sideways on my phone (Whoops!), but these guys are so much fun!

It started to get late on Friday night...we continued to listen to some more awesome bands, but we didn't catch their names. I'll update if I figure it out ;)

On Saturday morning, our dear friend, @jessamynorchard brought the stage back to life, along with the super-talented sax man, Ryan Dunn. I only got a clip of part of a song because everyone was so focused on their mesmerizing performance.

The PineDrivers were a super talented 4-piece acoustic band! I actually had the time to stand up and record a full song from my phone

Our band, Sideways Geoffrey playing a song called "On my Knees"...I posted a studio version of this last week, and I just want to thank everyone that took the time to listen, and/or comment! Also want to thank @curie for the visibility!!! We've been playing music for years and never shared it until recently.

In this video, we were all a bit stressed because we went on 30 minutes earlier than expected and then @johnbutler broke not one...but TWO strings at the beginning of our set. We were so thankful that people stuck around to listen!

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend, full of amazing music, good people, and good vibes. It was so great to hang with other musicians and to share our stuff. We have a pretty neat little community of musicians around here and we are so very grateful :)

I wish I could have gotten pictures of each and every band, but what matters most is that we had fun, and we connected with people through our love for music.

Thank you to @jasonrussell for pretty much 90% of these photos!! I grabbed the camera for a couple clicks when he decided to sit it down or pass it over ;) But he's so awesome to come out to support music and take pictures of it while he's at it.

Thanks for checking it out!!!
