Carl made his way himself, made his way from the bottom – and this is a vivid example of the embodiment of the "American dream" - about the same as the Russian "from dirt to princes, make a wish and wait patiently all your life – when in your Muhosransk berth, finally, a yacht with scarlet sails... But the Americans to this is added two components – a hellish desire and hellish work. The American will not wait for a yacht with red sails – he will build it, buy a red canvas in the nearest shop and go far,far away – for happiness or big money (I suspect that they do not make differences between these concepts).

Karl's father was an agricultural worker, and Karl and his brothers worked in the field after school, helping his father to earn. And in the summer, he and his older brother just worked like adults, 12-14 hours, from sunrise to sunset, and earned for two as much as 50 cents a day – not so bad. All their village entertainment – radio. Little by little Carl wanted to try his hand at music and he asked for a guitar. But his parents thought it would be too early, and his father made him a toy from a cardboard box and a MOP. After making sure that his son is serious, his father bought him a used guitar for two bucks from a neighbor. Now the road to fame star of rock-n-roll was opened and Carl confidently moved forward without a moment's hesitation. The first thing he taught his older brother to accompany him on the guitar, and he sang and composed his songs.

They began to act on neighboring taverns when Karl turned fourteen, and then the younger brother on a double bass joined them. By the end of 40's the collective brothers Perkins became known "on the district." And – they acted in the evenings, and in the afternoon worked at plant.

In 1953 Carl married and that his wife told him – commit yourself completely to the beloved, if you want to achieve something. He moved to Memphis and started recording his songs in the studios there. Country, rock and roll, rockabilly, country again... He changed styles like gloves, looking for his own, wrote songs that became hits, far away, overseas, in a small provincial Liverpool little-known by the time the Beatles included his songs in their repertoire…

Next, it describes the life of just work, work, work. Records, concerts, tours, collaboration with famous musicians. Unexpected illness and death in 1998. Many famous rock and roll stars saw him off on his last journey.
