Thanks for this @awgibb, if they were a Blues band I'm guessing they had the electric bass instrument (very new at the time, well under control? Unrelated question, can you send me the link for the teamsouthafrica discord channel?

    They would have been using this:-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_EB-2 ( there was an Epiphone version) I had one years ago and traded it in on a Gibson Ripper Bass.
