The Blasting Company - Over the Garden Wall OST

I have been itching for some 'Over the Garden Wall' lately, but it's a cardinal sin to watch it before the month of October. Anime fans, you're probably aware of this series, but if you're like me and haven't gotten sucked into the anime lifestyle yet, then this is most likely the first time you're hearing about it. Basically it's a tale about two brothers lost in the woods looking for their way home. More often than not, people who watch the series make it an annual tradition. It perfectly encapsulates the feel of autumn while also staying true to its spooky Halloween theme. A lot of this has to do with the incredible soundtrack composed by The Blasting Company. They managed to make eerie music that somehow transitions into a fun/upbeat song that will keep your foot tapping. All in all, give it a try this Halloween season, I have a feeling you'll enjoy it.

Cornelius - 69/96

Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius) has made a huge impact in the music world while also flying under the radar. The only piece you might recognize by him is the OST to Ghost in the Shell, but even then you probably didn't know who wrote it. Well, for anyone reading this, this guy is a genius, and he's had many great solo albums that have gone untouched in the Western world. '69/96' is one of his earliest releases, and probably his most fun. A lot of samples from classic rock songs you're well aware of throughout this album, while throwing a Japanese twist and making them feel like brand new songs. I highly recommend giving him a try. Start with his most accessible album 'Fantasma' first and explore from there.

Ty Segall & Mikal Cronin - Reverse Shark Attack

I think this is the most lo-fi album Ty has ever been apart of, and holy crap is it good. How does six 2 minute headbangers in a row, a Pink Floyd cover, and then a 10 minute ballad sound to you? All of this coupled with so much reverb you can't understand a word of what's being said. Man, when Ty goes for it, HE GOES FOR IT! You can tell Ty and his long time buddy Mikal have really honed in on a specific sound they wanted and turned the amps to 11. So much going on, yet sounds like its only 2 guys in a basement. This is a great album to get you through to Friday (Ty Segall & White Fence - Joy releases Fri, July 20th).
