Seventh Wonders Tiara's Review. Score: 8.5/10

A long wait that gave good results.
8 Years we had to wait to get a new job from this great progressive metal group, the reason for this long wait has been simple, the singer Tommy Karevik's entrance to the power metal giants Kamelot and his constant participation in projects like " Ayreon "has left no time on his agenda; however this does not have to mean something negative because this has resulted in a high exposure of the singer to the international arena, causing interest in a new potential public in what "Seventh Wonder" can offer to the audience.

The quintet has opted for a conceptual work, whose theme is about a group of extraterrestrials (The Everones) who decide to kill all the human beings for the damage that they made to the planet, to communicate they plan to the humanity the everones choose a young woman named Tiara who, after trying to intercede for the dominant species of her own world with an unsuccessful result ( because she is unable to lie about the self-destructive nature of her species), is returned to the planet earth and marked as a traitor for her congeners.

This disc is more in line with what was seen on his own album "Mercy Falls" of 2008 (they best work so far), with melodic courses that evoke the emotions of the listener, with virtuoso skills in the instrumental suites), the bass is the most prominent instrument played here, since Andreas Blomqvist is a teacher at the level of Billy Sheehan or Tony Levin, the rest of the instruments do a very good job; On the other hand, Tommy Karevik steals the show with his voice.

Songs to highlight: The Farewell Suite composed by the trio of: "Tiara's Song", "Goodnight" and "Beyond Today" that together make up the backbone of the entire album, beautiful from beginning to end. The powerful "By the light of Funeral Pyre" where the keyboards shine for their prominence and the battery stands out for its aggressiveness and the long "Exhale" which is a close with a full-fledged gold clasp, heavy spectacular guitars solo, blunt percussion and a spectacular instrumental segment (the best of all the cd).

As weak points I have to emphasize that "Tiara" abuses of the emotionality at times and the record does not manage to hook you until it sounds "Victorious", the production and mixing is not the best that they could have; even so, this long duration satisfy the expectations that any fan of them could have, one of the best of 2018 and highly recommended for any progressive metal enthusiast.
