Hey wonderful world of steemit!

@Hashbrown here, just created this page for our crypto rap group @teamHODL. I'm the rapper in the group alongside our producer @Cluff and developer @Loganspun and we've been on an amazing journey the last year. It's been a pretty surreal experience honestly, and recently I had the realization that it all started here on Steemit : )

I started researching cryptocurrency heavily the beginning of last June (I'm the newest to blockchain in our group) which led me to Steemit and the weekly rap challenge held by @rondonson that I entered and won a couple weeks with crypto related verses. I've been rapping for over a dozen years and in all this time felt the most love and appreciation from the blockchain community, and I want to thank you all for the encouragement! The support from the members here sparked @cluff and me to make a 6 track crypto rap album we dropped the end of December 2017 as well as an ERC-20 token (developed by the talented and hardworking @loganspun) to crowdfund and profit share the album which is now streaming on most music outlets if you search teamHODL (more info on the project and token can be found at https://teamhodl.com/)

Fast Forward

After a slow start, our music video Lambo Land (will embed at the bottom of the article) along with us as a group has garnered a lot of attention and views which has brought us amazing opportunities I wouldn't have thought possible a year ago. For example we just got flown out to New York for Consensus week (both my and @cluff's first time in NY) to perform at the Crypto Influence Summit. While there we made a ton of connections and were interviewed and photographed by Business Insider! (this image is from the article on the event, but a larger piece on crypto rap and culture is in the works).

Moving Onward

Crazy as this ride has been, it's only getting started. It's been insanely humbling to realize that as much as we love crypto and the blockchain community, we are loved just as much in return! That being said, we've been so busy creating music and performing at events (the SF NEO DevCon was doooope!) we've definitely dropped the ball on engaging the community which we love so much. After a little much needed thought and conversation the obvious and logical choice was to make an (extremely overdue) Steemit account so here we are!
