To get ready to do a truly large scale collaboration song I am holding a contest to choose the first song we do. We have decided to do a steemit related song. A steemit theme song. The contest is to accomplish three things.

1)To promote the idea of doing a Song Collaborations as a regular thing.

2 ) To choose the first song we do as a collaboration.

1. To find a great song that represents and promotes steemit! We hope to share this song as a way to promote Steemit.

Please see the video below for examples of a collaboration song. The song should be geared towards promoting steemit in a positive way. The actual collaboration will be the next step. If starbucks can do it so can we!

The winning song will be chosen by what will be the best fit for a steemit collaboration song. It will also be used in our first collaboration song. Performance will be a MUCH smaller judging factor than it is in other open mic type contests. So don't be shy. All genres welcome.

Your entry must be recorded live. The song should be something that many people can participate in. For instance the song by the Beatles "Love is all you need" is a good example of a cover you could change the lyrics too. It should not be too complicated and allow for many people to sing the chorus and hopefully in many languages. It should have positive lyrics and feel to it. Songs should be at least two and a half minutes long and not exceed four minutes. We will give a bit of leeway here if they go a bit longer

The song must be about steemit. All genres welcome.

The song can be either an original or a cover. However, If you do a cover song you MUST change the lyrics to be about Steemit.

The songs will be Judged by a panel of 5 Judges

Two Judges are steemians and three non-steemians. I think this is a good mix but open to feedback.

To enter

1. Video record your performance- Youtube or Dtube is fine. You can use your Cell phone.

2. You must say "Steemit Song Collaboration Contest" at the beginning of your video.

3. You must include the tag #sscp ( doesn't need to be first tag)
   You cannot use openmic as your first tag. This will immediately disqualify you!

4. You must post your entry between October 1st and October 20th ( winner to be announced on October 25th) dates extended

5. Your song must have lyrics and be about Steemit.
   Lyrics must be posted in the body of your entry post.

Please share / re-steem etc, This is greatly appreciated and proceeds will go towards prize money. I will make up the difference. I already have 100 steem set aside for this. I really can use all the help promoting this as possible. I really hope to not only find a great song for steemit but to make song collaboration a monthly event.

If I make the hundred steem back for my combined contest promo posts. I will add 25 more steem to sweeten the pot.
