A story about a woman in love with music and magic of life

Andronia Popova - Roni is known as a main part of several bulgarian music projects. Some of them are : the band Nasekomix, the swing trio "Sentimental Swingers", the duo project "Bass and Voice", together with Georgi Donchev, "World Melancholy" - the project with the experimental duo Bluba Lu.

The release of "Adam's Bushes Eva's Deep", the debut album (2009) of her main band Nasekomix, coincided with the release of the film "Eastern Pieces". Their song "Inject me with love" was not only the highlight of the soundtrack, but also one of the most memorable moments in the movie of Kamen Kalev.

Their second album "Giants and Dwarfs" was released in 2015 without media noise. Nasekomix, without the ambition to do so, has contributed to building a more full-blooded scene for experimental performers in Bulgaria. It was recorded in the Bulgarian mountain Rhodopes, on places, surrounded by mysticism and legends. Among them is the sanctuary at Tatul, where it is supposed that the grave of Orpheus is located and also - the Gluhite kamuni, Belintash, Chudnite Mostove. The words of Roni about the album were:
"All of the songs were strongly related to nature. It was such a period in our life and what concerned and interested each one of us in the group was how one unlocks his incredible abilities, how one relates to his inner nature and interacts with the external nature. The texts that Marii Rosen gave us at that time, carried just that fabulous feeling, which we have when we are in the middle of the forest. There are always talks about giants and dwarfs. With its strength nature provokes us to find ourselves, it has preserved the incredible energy we tried to encode in the songs from the album. "Giants and Dwarfs" is somehow a wonderful metaphor of human states - continues Ronnie - whoever you imagine - sometimes we are giants, sometimes we are brave like dwarfs, but small."

The album was presented in a theatre, which was the most appropriate place for such kind of music. It was such an emotional experience I could never forget and it can't be compared to anything. During the concert I lost my perception of time and space and was totally fused with the music, which makes you immerse yourself in fairy tales with giants and dwarfs, floating through meadows and seas, bizarre magic creatures and shapes dancing around you. Sounds a little bit psychedelic, provoked by no other stimulant but music:)

They sounded surprisingly, improvising all the time as if trying to pull out of their instruments all the sounds that they are capable of creating together. You can not explain the style of such music - a mix of jazz, rock, punk, indie, fusion, trip-hop. Roni once said about music: "Music is a way. As you walk it, you meet the souls of the people you are creating music with. You may find yourself in love triangles, a child may be born. Songs are also children who must be born, raised and let them live their lives. And all this is like making love, on another level, with the people you play and sing with. And the difficult moments in communication - they are overcome with music. I think also that singing and praying are of the same nature".

Not surprisingly, when she was asked about her favorite quote, she pointed out the following one:
"There are two ways to live your life: One is when you think there are no miracles.
The other is, thinking that every thing is a miracle. "(Einstein)
Judging by her music, I suppose she lived it like this.
