The Beautiful Girls - Ziggurats

Ziggurats is the third full studio album by Australian Reggae/Rock band The Beautiful Girls, released in May 2007 (eleven years ago now... jeez). I want to start off by giving a massive thanks to the user @conradt for recommending this band to me a few weeks (or months now?) ago. If you don't follow him already, you should, as he writes excellent posts on a wide variety of topics from Music to Steemit.
I've only started listening to The Beautiful Girls recently, diving into to the third album because their CDs aren't that easy to get hold of over here in Britain. The Sydney-based three-piece formed in 2001, starting off with 3 EPs before diving into 5 full studio albums. This album's sound instantly reminded me of an album by Canadian Reggae/Rockers Bedouin Soundclash called Sounding a Mosaic which I'm sure everyone reading this will at least recognise the song "When The Night Feels My Song".
At first I was tempted to categorise this album as "Ska", but it really isn't. I don't think this particular blend of Rock and Reggae has a name really, or at least not one that I've come across yet. You can feel the Ben Harper or Bob Marley influence blended with a sound that's reminiscent of The Police and maybe Phil Collins. I highly recommend you track down a copy of this album, it's the perfect summer soundtrack while you're battling the heat.
