We've got new Childish Gambino!

Its not what I expected! But thats what I thought with his last album. Awaken My Love. Which I played non-stop last December to January.

The old school influence, mixed with his new found high pitched vocals. Actually fooled me so much I listened to the whole album and thought where's Gambino's vocals?!

Did some research and discovered that a raspy black woman was not the main vocalist, it's Gambino (Donald Glover). Awaken My Love hit the heart strings, and felt more real than any of the other new music that came out in 2017.

Been looking forward to the new album from Childish Gambino. Heard rumors that this next one will be his last. Which makes sense, in the wake of him starring in the new Star Wars movie Solo. Seems like he's moving more into the acting world.

Directed by Hiro Murai, the This Is America music video was well filmed. Love the long shot videos, that look like they would take the full day to film.

The start of the song had me intrigued. Thinking the sound would be similar to his last album. Then he pulls a gun out and shoots the guy playing guitar! Straight into the rap influence his other albums have.

Then the political message of the song goes heavy. "This is America" with the gun shots. Which from my opinion Im tired of. The anti gun stuff is over done these days. Seems like a trend right now and Im tired of so many rap songs using the political views as leverage for themselves.

Nevertheless Gambino's dance is entertaining. The directing great, and his acting impeccable. Im excited for his new album.
