7 Day Wayback Music Challenge - Day 1 Wednesday

in #musicwaybackchallenge6 years ago (edited)

Thanks, @vinamra and @sayee for nominating me for this challenge. I'm quite excited to write on this topic. I'm basically a music lover and I listen to lots of classical songs. I have a selection of few Ragas that attracts me and melts me. If I find any songs in those Raga, I will keep listening to those songs in a loop. But I'm mostly not going to write about any of my Raga based songs in detail in this 7-day challenge. Instead, I'm going to dig my sweet memories and share few songs that really touched my soul so far.

I really don't know how I managed to memorize so many songs from my childhood. I think it is all purely based on the interest that a person has. If I had done that on my studies, I might have scored good marks. Before starting off with my first Music post, I would like to introduce the readers to this contest. below are the rules

Here are the rules for this contest:

  • Choose one song from your high-school/college years.
  • Write a few words about who made you listen to this song for the first time, what this song means to you (was it a breakup song? you blasted it at 100% on your audio system when you were partying with your friends?) whatever you want.
  • Write your text while listening to the song. As soon as the song ends, wrap up what you were writing and submit it. Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated.
  • Mention one person who should do this on each day.
  • Tag it with #musicwaybackchallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post.

Song 1 - Wednesday

Name: Ondra renda Aasaigal

Movie: Kaakha Kaakha

This movie was released during my school days. I remember listening to this song several times in Radio those days. I did not have access to movie songs when I was studying in school as we did not have a TV in our house. But I had an opportunity to go on an excursion with my classmates. I had a crush on my class and throughout the journey, I had nice chat with my crush. She was having a walkman with songs from this movie. She was listening to those songs continuously throughout the trip. When we were standing and a river bridge where water was flowing in both the directions, I borrowed the walkman from her to listen to songs. I had the volume very high and that was my first time to listen to music in a good walkman player through a headset.

This song had been one of my favourite songs those days because of the lyrics and husky voice of the singer. I never knew about the stereo effect of the songs before this incident. When I was listening to this song, suddenly at around 2:25 of this song, there will be a stereo effect where the echo will be split among both the ears. By hearing that I had massive goosebumps having all my body hair standing straight. It just touched my soul and I will never forget that experience. I listened to the same song again and again for few more times to experience the stereo effect which was awesome. It really gave a lovely feeling.

Now when I listen to this song, I get all those memories back. The lyrics of the song and its meaning is what makes the song so special.

I would like to nominate @inuke today for this contest. I believe he will definitely have a good set of songs and nice memories.

I also love this song. it is nice that you shared your wonderful memories with all of us.

so cool!

Good one @bala41288... I think this song was an outright favorite of most of us during that time (even now for that matter). The mesmerizing husky voice of Bombay Jayasree and the fresh music from Harris Jayaraj was an amazing combination...

Yes, those were the days' Husky female voices were getting famous. There were lots of similar songs in husky voice after that. Harris Jayaraj made female sing in husky low pitch voice and made male singers sing in high pitch voice. 😆😀

Congratulations @bala41288: this post has been upvoted by @minnowhelpme!!
