Lightweight jig on small river

Last weekend my brother and I devoted all our free time to searching for new anglers points on the river Pahra. Besides, my brother, under my sensitive leadership, mastered a new kind of catching-a light jig with silicone baits. Features of this method of catching-quite easy tackle (spinning up to 15-18 grams on baits), high requirements to the accuracy of casting and constant selection of the correct animation of bait.
On the Pahra, which in the places of catching on width of only 8-15 meters, we used weights 4-6 grams.

Baits served vibro-shads Bass Assasin of various colors in the size of 10 centimeters and worms Keitech 3.5" long. Baits equipped offset hooks size 3/0 OWNER. Why offset hooks? In the river lies a lot of fallen trees and large branches. and Pike likes to stand in such places, use the flooded part of a tree as a place of an ambush...

Animation of lures in such conditions- "long " step wiring when the phase of uniform winding is 5-6 turns of the reel. At the same time the lure passes over the flooded logs and trees in the view of the pike, which does not withstand and makes an attack on a uniform phase of animation...

Brother on the development of this method of fishing took some time. While with a short and accurate casting mastered until the animation was sorted out... But then it went, and his first pike on a light jig tackle was caught! ))
We tried to find places where the river turns the riverbed, and formed a pool and pits with depths up to 2 meters. And from the outer shore, which is destroyed by the river, lie in the water fallen trees...

Well, our trophies were small pike from 300 grams to 1 kilogram. All the "kids" we immediately released. But still decided to withdraw 4 larger fish to treat our wives (Michael and Olga) fresh fried pike...

Fishing has undoubtedly succeeded! A walk through overgrown nettles and littered with trees, the banks of the Pakhra was still a good exercise))).
