Asides the wonderful smell of trees in your orchard, or the sweet smell when you take a walk on a cool morning, the shade they provide on a hot afternoon, that treehouse you had while growing up, logs for making fire, trees play a much more bigger role in our daily lives. Tree breathes in CO2 and breathes out Oxygen that we live on.

Asides from all the above, let's take a look at other items uses in our daily lives made from trees.

Sponges.

I grew up surrounded by a plant that produces sponge (I've forgotten the name anyways but I'm sure Nigerians, at least will know it).
This sponge is used to bath and wash plates or surfaces. Have you used it before?

Chewing gum.

Don't be so surprised. Okay, you are allowed to be surprised, I actually was myself when I found out. Chewing gum evolved from chicle-based gum, which is derived from the Sapodilla tree. Plenty advances have been made in this regards though and now substances are now combined to make chewing gum.

Henna.

Henna is used for beautification purposes, to draw patterns on the skin and to make dye. It was initially used to beautify brides but the use has since become general.

Rubber.

Rubber is a latex tapped from trees and then processed into the rubber we see and make use of in the homes and industries.

Drugs

Drugs are extracted from leaves, sap and bark of trees either through decoction, concoction, infusion or other forms of processing. Lots of medicinal plants out there (I think I'll write about them soon).

Furniture

Used in the homes, offices, churches and every other place you can think of, furnitures are made from trees but I'm sure you know.

What else do you know of that are made of trees and that we use daily? Be sure to share with us.

Thanks for reading.
