The word "water" Originated from the old English word " wæter".The formula for water is H2O. Water is a pure, colourless, odourless and transparent chemical substance which surrounds 71% of the earth surface like the oceans, rivers, sea, stream and lake. Also water is important for life to exist.

Properties Of Water

Attraction of Cohesion and adhesion takes place to attract the polar molecules. Cohesion tends to attract bond hydrogen to other water molecules together as water's polarity while in adhesion, it attract between molecules of different substances which it can also form hydrogen bond with.
High-speed IC heat of water Temperature of two properties can be moderated by water. The quantity of energy consumed nor lost by a gram of substance by 1 degree Celsius can change it's temperature. The more the water molecules bonds together the more friction and heat leads to the increase of temperature.
Water Increase The Heat Of Evaporation In order to moderate temperature, water's high heat of evaporation is needed therefore the quantity of energy helps transform liquid to a gaseous form.
Ice's lower Density Ice crystals are form from the hydrogen bond of water molecules when the temperature is cold which helps maintain and stablise the ice crystal. The solid form of water is ICE.

Water is also a natural resources which is essential for use in households, agriculture, recreation, industries and environmental activities. All living organisms needs water to exist. According to science, Salt water on earth is 97% while freshwater contains only 3% also water covers 71% of the earth surface. The water bodies include rivers, oceans,sea lakes and streams. Another source of water is rainwater and underground water.

Agriculture water is highly required for plant growth and production through rainfall, flood or irrigation, the artificial supply of water to the soil. Water also serves as means of survival to animals.
Transportation Water on a large surface like rivers, oceans, sea etc are often used as means of transportation of people, goods and services from one place to another
Hydroelectric power water serves as source of power supply to supply generate electricity and heat. For example the kanji dam .
Domestic Use Generally water serves a great purpose in our daily activities at home like bathing, drinking, washing, food preparation etc. Water is one of the important necessities of life.
Industrial Use Water is required for chemical processing and manufacturing of fertilizer and other chemicals substances, also serves as means that of production of food and beverage.
Mineral Deposits Water bodies consists of several mineral resources such as crude oil,salt, titanium, limestone,placer gold, diamond,tin, gypsum etc which could also serves as an economy resources.
Recreation and tourism Activities such as golf, swimming, fishing, picnicking etc can be carried out on the water bodies provided with excellent facilities.
Employment Opportunities are created in the tourism centers for individual to work. Also in terms of water transportation like the sailors,marine, the shipbuilders and the fishermen.
Source of food Most creatures under the water bodies serves as food to to man such as seaweed, fishes, crab, oyster, octopus, shrimp and lot more, they are mainly found in salt water.

Water is an essential element for every living organisms and it's environment. Water is needed in our daily activities. Water is a free gift of nature. For water is Life.
