I've always wondered what the name of this plant shrub that always grows along many of the beaches of Hawaii. Here it grows along the volcanic cliff side.

I'm sure the Native Hawaiians had a word for it. Also, not even sure that it is "native" as it could have been brought in from the outside.

Does anyone know the name of this plant species?
