Asi (Asi-noko) - a lake in the central part of the island of Honshu. This is one of the main attractions of the Hakone district.
The diameter of the lake is 20 kilometers. It was formed 400 000 years ago, but its present appearance was 3000 years ago. Lake Asya is famous for not freezing all year round. The lake is full of fish, which attracts many fishermen. From the observation platforms of the mountain road you can see magnificent views of the Asi. On the lake between the northern towns of Togendai and Kojiri and the southern Moto-Hakone and Hakone-mati, pleasure boats and boats cruise. On the lake there is a tunnel "Fukara-Yosuy" cut in the rocks, which connects Asya with the village of Fukara. "Fukara-Yoshui" was built in 1671.
