Notre-Dame Cathedral Europe Belgium.

in #nature6 years ago (edited)

Notre Dame Cathedral is the largest cathedral in Belgium. In the interior there are 4 magnificent altar paintings by Rubens "Ascension of Our Lady" (above the altar), "Exaltation", "Resurrection" (in a small chapel to the right of the altar) and "Descent from the Cross."

Belgium holds great historic architectures. Great click.

Iam sorry to say, but the "Onze-Lieve-Vrouw Kathedraal" is the Cathedral of my city and she looks nothing like the building in the photograph, which is the Notre Dame church of Doornik/Tournai and is a few centuries older with her roman/gothic style.

In fact I think the tower of our cathedral with her 123meters can be ranked among the most beautiful towers in the world. And is worth a visit to Antwerp. Our church with the Rubenses etc looks like this
(btw, the building on the right is the first real 'modern' skyscraper built in Europe)
