No more bees

Went to check on my beehives today, hoping they had over-wintered well. But all good things must come to an end, both hives were completely dead. I'm thinking it must have been from the cold, hundreds of dead bees covered the bottom of both hives and a few bees were frozen inside a cell, trying either to feed or be fed. Only one and a half boxes of honey will be recovered, but at least it is something. So sad the little things had to end like that, but I'm done with them for now. Might start back in a few years after my schedule frees up.
