Sunset- Alamogordo

Today in our travels, we stumbled upon this beautiful, reflective pond outside of the New Mexican town Alamogordo. While unimpressive in size, the placid and reflective qualities of the small body of water will stay in my memory.

Very near to the famed White Sands, you can spot how the proximity of the large gypsum field has marked this area. The dirt surrounding the pond glistened with white specks of sand. I took many photos, but even the highest quality camera could not do justice to the beauty of a peaceful body of water suspended under a setting sun.

Of course the most marvelous part of this view was the colorful New Mexican sunset that hung over the western sky. Pastels and bright magenta coalesced to make for a memorable and beautiful evening.
