There's also an organization called Precious Plastic that has DIY open source recycling machine plans. About $1000 will get you everything you need to create pretty much anything out of recycled plastic.
We'll be using that technology in The Warriors of the Rainbow Lodge.
There's also machines that will pulverize glass into a safe to handle sand. We're planning on make a zen garden out of that.
I haven't research how much a paper shredder is- but once shredded, you can soak paper in water, then press it into bricks, for use as fire logs.
Basically- there's plenty of ways to turn trash into treasure. And I believe that's how we'll make a real difference; make the ecologically superior model more cost effective as well.
Remember- all suffering is a design problem. The Earth is suffering- so how do design evolved solutions?
If one could fall in love with words, those paragraphs would have swept me off my feet! I am looking forward to exploring precious plastics! I have been working on building sustainable housing with recycled material, like earthships ect. This could be a big help in this project, and many others. I could not agree more with your statement, we have all this plastic- it's time to use it!
