How important is the river for us?! So many environmentalists always talk about the beauty and cleanliness of the river.

Usually, in big cities, rivers are not only used as bathing and shipping places. But the river has changed its function to more than that. Such as tourist attractions and building beauty to spatial city.

In a few times I travel around Indonesia, I see the rivers in the country as ignored. Often the rivers are littered with factory waste and household waste.

It's a pity! but that is the proof of a country which full of corruptors and mafias who don't want to pay attention to the cleanliness of nature. They are busy collecting wealth for themselves. Ah, that's beyond my problem.

The origin of the naming

|||| The things I described above may apply to rivers in urban areas. But look at this river, which is located in the hinterland of Aceh, it is so beautiful and fascinating. Everything is still natural and free from human waste.

This river was named with "Krueng Pasee", "krueng" means "river", and "Pasee" taken from the ancient kingdom name, "Samudra Pasai/Pasee". This river, when it was still a kingdom, so needed by the king as a "road" to go to the coastal area.

Because at that time, there was no highway and other alternative crossing paths, which could save time. On the land side, people from Pasai royal era used elephants and horses as their vehicles. But it will not save time.

Crossing bridge

Currently, the river is still providing facilities for every resident living in the area, because the water is clear and many river stones that make the river water is protected from dirt.

Thus, the local government provides a crossing bridge that can be used by rural people to get to the urban areas.

In addition, I also see the many tombs of the royal period on the right and the left side of this river. So it can be inferred, this river is in need in the Sultanate of Samudra Pasai first.

Especially after conducting research with the CISAH team, we found also many pieces of pottery and pottery and antique stones used by people in the royal era.

Every river has its history, and every river must be on guard. So for that, do not pollute or ignore the cleanliness of the river. The river will give life, because it is the source of water. Thanks.
