Let's get to know the state of Merida.
Mérida is a Venezuelan state with an elevation of 1.6 km and a surface of 59.39 square km as the location of the country we have that this in the part of the Venezuelan Andes.
The city received its name on October 9, 1558 by its founder Juan Rodríguez Suárez, who named it after his native city, Mérida in Extremadura, Spain.

It should be noted that the Merideño climate is the only one in Venezuela, becoming the only Venezuelan state with snow and cold weather along its length.

Today in 2018 Mérida has 500 years of its foundation being founded by Juan Rodrigues Suárez on October 9, 1558, in its beginnings Mérida was inhabited by indigenous groups being thus the group of the tatuyes the best known these lived from agriculture and among their crops possessed corn and other fruits that made it possible for them to survive.

El pico Bolívar es parte de los Andes Venezolanos, los cuales derivan de la Cordillera Oriental de Colombia a nivel del Parque nacional El Tamá y su cerro El Cobre (3.613 metros), al sur del Estado Táchira. Esta imponente formación de montaña continúa con rumbo Noroeste entre los ríos Torbes y Uribante a nivel del Pico El Púlpito (3.942 metros) y el extenso Páramo del Batallón. En este punto penetra el estado Mérida formando la Sierra Nevada de Mérida, separada del Ramal del Uribante por el río Nuestra Señora. Es en el corazón de la Sierra Nevada de Mérida que se ubica el pico Bolívar.
