Is water going to End?!!

in #nature6 years ago

At the present era of advancement and technology, which some people terms as “the best era” for human beings to live in, our race is now suffering with crises which we couldn’t have imagined a decade before now. If we go only 10 years back no one could’ve imagined that only a decade from now the “advanced human race’ would be suffering from the shortage of the basic need of life, Water. Water is known to be the core ingredient in our eco system, without which not only human beings but no living organisms could exist.
Now, due to over population followed by climatic changes during the past few years the natural balance of the ecosystem had suffered a lot. Around 650 million people in the world today are deprived of clean water to drink. Ring any bells? Maybe not, so let me shed some more light on this topic. Down below is the list of some countries where people have to pay about have of their income just to purchase clean, hygienic water and in some cases they couldn’t even get that.

  1. Papua New Guinea
Independent State of Papua New Guinea, is an Oceanian country that occupies the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and its offshore islands in Melanesia , a region of the southwestern Pacific Ocean north of Australia. 60% of the country’s population is living without safe water. People living there spend 54% of their average income to purchase water.

  2. Cambodia
It is located in Asia with Thailand located in its northwest and Vietnam in its east. People living there spend 108% of their income on water.

  3. Ethiopia

Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa. Having a population of 2,757,729. People there have to pay 105% of their income to get water delivered at their homes.

  1. Madagascar
Located in the continent of Africa .It is the 47th largest nation, in terms of area it covers. People there pays 45% of their average daily income to get 50 liters of water which is the minimum requirement for a human according to WHO.

You must be thinking that all of these are poor countries and cause of lack of development they are facing such problem. Well guess what? I thought the same too, until I came to know that developed countries like India and one of the most developed city, Cape town(South Africa) are facing water crises too. In case of Cape Town however, this problem is way more serious. It is predicted that near the mid of July, water level will reach level zero there.

So by keeping all of this in mind one thing can be easily concluded that this shortage of water in certain countries is not due to lack of development or due to poor economy of some countries rather it is an act of nature and I think we can collectively put an end to this before it’s too late. If we don’t do something now, then I am afraid that maybe there would be an inclusion of more names in the above mentioned list.

Peace.
