Textile Recycled Product of the Week | Ankara Bowties
#TextileUpcycled Product of the Week
Bowties
Crafted from small pieces of textile offcuts, @ecodesigns is training her trainees to repurpose textile offcuts into beautiful “Ankara” bowties.
Why make Bowties?
The Cameroonian market is almost saturated with imported expensive western bowties which is playing negative on our economy and increasing our textile waste footprint. These Bowties costs more between 2 – 20 USD making them a luxury for most of the people of our community. As such, we are producing beautiful Ankara Bowties that have a blend of the African and Western cultures and are durable and affordable ($0.5 per bowtie) for all.
By purchasing a Garment from @ecodesigns, you are supporting @thegreens to train women and girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing as well as supporting us to reduce textile waste pollution via the recycling of textile offcuts and textile waste in the North West Region of Cameroon
