👕 A T-shirt tote bag 👜

It started with an old holey T-shirts:

This is the back of the T-shirt with holes mostly at the top part of the T-shirt

I decided to use the lower part of the T-shirt for the tote bag.

At the front of the T-shirt, there is a pocket, so I cut just below the pocket:

With the cut piece, I sewed the open sides and cut one of the folds to hem as the top part of the bag:

The other folded part will be the bottom of the bag, which in my mind makes the bag sturdier to hold things.

The cool part about using a T-shirt is that it does not fray and there is no need to hem the edges! 😁

Then, using the remaining top part of the T-shirt, I cut out 2 strips for the handles:

Each strip was then sewed, wrong sides together:

And turned inside out with the help of a pin:

Then, I find the middle of the sewed T-shirt tote bag by folding it and pinned each side of the handle about 3.5 inches away from the center.

I sewed a square and an X inside for each side of the handle for better hold:

And done!

A T-shirt as a tote bag is pretty nice because it stretches and I made the handle considerably long so that it can sling on my shoulder and I can easily reach in to get things from the bag.
