Fourteen years have happened for us to be here. Finally got to watch one of the most anticipated sequels of animated movies history: The Incredibles 2. The first movie is the one I've seen the most times in a theatre (9 times); not even beaten by my real obsession, Marvel films. It is safe to say it's my favorite Pixar movie after Monsters Inc. And also, the sequel lived up to the expectations just fine.

Incredibles 2 (dir. Brad Bird) is an american animated superhero film and the sequel to 2004's 'Incredibles'. The movie takes right after the end of the first film, following the Parr family as they balance regaining the public's trust of superheroes with their civilian family life, this time with Elastigirl taking on a bit more of the public spotlight, and then combat a new foe who seeks to turn the populace against all supers.

Although I thought it'd would've been better if they had decided to move up on the years as they happened in real life (like Toy Story 3 did), I was still excited to see the film with the story as they chose: right after where they left it the last time.

However you do feel like the movie picked up a little on a few more time because all of the sudden Violet and Dash know how to use their powers and fight with new tricks. But it's just a slightly feel, or maybe that was just me.

The film takes on an interesting, original plot and that alone is remarkable already when you consider that we're fairly saturated with the superhero genre almost on a monthly basis now-- something that didn't happen when the first one came out.

It stays true and close to its heart, which is the family aspect of the film. A family of superheroes that comes together to fight foes. The other superhero films out there don't offer that and that's why The Incredibles is as good as it is.

The one who absolutely steals the spotlight is, without a doubt, Jack-Jack. The youngest Parr is still getting more and more random powers (and really powerful and useful powers, too) and is, ultimately, the one who saves the day by being the only one who can take the goggles off Elastigirl during the final climax. All the Jack-Jack scenes are amazingly funny and entertaining.

Overall, it is an incredibly good sequel and it leaves you with a good taste that the wait was worth it, unlike, for example, Monsters University, which wasn't that good. Is it better than the first one? Well, no, it's a little less put together and consistent. But it is fun and entertaining and it delivers on everything you loved about the first one.

So I give it, while fully expecting they make a third one:
