Week 4 Winners

Another fantastic week of entries with some real laugh out loud finds! But there can only be one top pick...

My Personal Favorite

I spent the week waiting for my resource credits to regenerate by messing around with
a drug of recreational use

by @brammdal. Congratulations! What a great find on a truly random article that hit my sense of humor perfectly. Great digging, well done, and welcome!

The Crowd Favorite

There were two entries tied with 5 votes each. By coin toss, this week's crowd favorite is:
I spent the week waiting for my resource credits to regenerate by messing around with
History

by @bengy. Congratulations!

The RNG Award

I spent the week waiting for my resource credits to regenerate by messing around with
Mountain Jam

by @ilsaione. Congratulations!

Rules

TLDR; answer the prompt as a comment on this post using words from a random Wikipedia article

  1. No resteem or upvote is necessary, although it is greatly appreciated. If I get paid out more than more than 4 liquid STEEM from these posts, I will increase the number of winners.
  2. Use the Random Article feature on Wikipedia to get your valid list of words (your "White Cards", for those of you familiar with the actual party game). This link will take you to a random article. You can use any word(s) on the screen - intro, nav bar, anything!
  3. Answer in the form of a comment on this post. The format of your comment should be three lines: your first word(s), your second word(s), and the link to the article you used (see sample answer to this week's prompt below)
  4. If you want to keep rolling for new random articles, that's your decision, although it's not in the spirit of the game. If you get a very short "stub" article or something written in another language, feel free to roll again though!
  5. If you intentionally use a specific Wikipedia article, I can't stop you, but again, it's not in the spirit of the game.

Prizes

There will be three shares of SBI awarded as prizes.

  1. One share to my own personal favorite
  2. One share to the crowd favorite (as measured by the number of upvotes, not the dollar amount)
  3. One share to a random qualifying entry

I've also set a small Steem Bounty on this post. All valid entries will qualify. I'd also recommend subscribing to @dustsweeper for maximum benefit.

This contest will run for a week, at which time I'll close it out, announce the winners, and kick off the next round.

Anyway, thanks for playing, and have fun! Here's the random Wikipedia article link again. See you in the comments below!

@dollarsandsense,

I didn't know you were running this contest. It looks fun. Obviously, I need to update my GinaBot settings. Sorry for missing it. I promise to do better. :-)

That's what happens when you use Apple Maps.

Random articles are often surprisingly interesting.

Hah, that sounds like the basis of some weird avant-garde sci-fi novel.

I would read it.

Budičina

Time zone(s)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donja_Budičina

The random wiki generator hats me... I keep getting tiny articles!

Haha, how would one even destroy a time zone? Like, just got rid of it through the bureaucracy? Haha, poor Bengy with his stubby articles.

Yep, definitely below average length there...

Haha oh so this is a thing now? My very first Steemit inside joke, yay!

2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot
The 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII was the 18th IPSC Handgun World Shoot held at the new National Shooting Center in Châteauroux, France during the end of August and start of September. There were 30 stages divided into 5 areas, with each area being named after and having themes from one of the 5 continents Africa, Asia, America, Australia or Europe.

Thank goodness silver made it out alive.

Congrats to all winners.

And thank you once again for this contest. Really fun. I've got lucky this time, so I think... First round was invalid short link or we called it stub. Second round was awesome.

Yes! This one is perfect :) Shortlisting for sure.

Don't even think about destroying music. I can't sit in silence with strangers for the rest of my life.

Please, don't 'cause you'd destroy me. I became the music to destroy some random nations :D

If you listen to their actual music it looks like they are doing a good job at it themselves ! 😂😂

a specific person

United States

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barzilay

(What an unlucky pick. But it links to interesting persons' biographies.)

Well, a specific person really is destroying the United States, so I wouldn't say it's that unlucky :P

He certainly is but whether he's doing that alone might lead to a longer discussion.

It was not that easy to choose words from that stub.

Barzilay
Barzilay is a surname. Notable people by that name include:

Judith M. Barzilay (born 1944), United States judge.
Dvorah Barzilay-Yegar (born 1933), Israeli historian.
Regina Barzilay (born 1971), professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Congrats to the winners! :)
