New Moon in Virgo with Navatri (9 Night Blessings of the Divine Mother) AND the Fall Equinox Starts Today, September 20, 2017 (Well, the equinox is tomorrow but we're feeling it)

In the way I practice astrology the 28 day lunar or moon cycle symbolically represents our consciousness phase fluctuations—the ups and downs we experience on a daily basis in our minds/hearts. This continuous fluctuation, of course affects our moods, ability to focus, and, for many, the ability to see "progress" in our goals. The new moon gives us the opportunity to set intention in the subconscious mind of what is desired and then to see the unfolding of events as part of that process. There is much more to this process but for the purpose of the post I will leave it at that. The new moon is in the sidereal celestial sign of Virgo, the virgin in the Western tongue. Virgin is purity, clear, innocent. In practical terms it is time to clean up our act in all areas including and especially our relationships, contracts, personal ecology, hygiene, and well-being, a time to maintain order or establish it in our lives, develop realistic routines to make sure there is order so that you can reach your goals.

At the same time of this new moon there is a special opportunity to establish relationship with a very powerful world Divine Mother who comes from India—Durga, her nine forms and other Shakti forms of Kali, Laksmi and Saraswati during navatri (nine nights). On these nights I pray for the releasement of ignorance and enslavement of my consciousness and spirit (first three nights of Kali and Durga's aspects as:. The next three nights belong to Laksmi the Goddess of abundance and prosperity. Prosperity isn't always about money and Laksmi rules over all prosperity. She will help you see things in your life that you may not have connected as abundance. Durga's forms these three nights are: respectively. The final three nights are devoted to Saraswati—the Divine Mother who rules wisdom, inspiration, the arts and creativity. I've overcome many obstacles in my life by working with this Divine Feminine presence. Durga's forms for this time are:. Day ten is a time of victory for the overcoming of obstacles and the establishment (or reestablishment) of order in our lives and in the world. Over the last 8 years since first taking part in this special time I can say my life has rearranged itself tremendously because I've let go of the ignorance, developed courage, opened my eyes to real prosperity and become aware of the vast creative potential which has been dormant within.

In separate posts over the next 9 days I will post something about the aspect of Mother Durga and whatever Divine Feminine is part of the Navatri celebration (Kali, Laksmi, Saraswati or victorious Durga on day ten).

Masculine and Feminine energy is balanced with a tip toward the feminine. Feminine is inclusive. The Divine Feminine makes sure everyone is included. She contains the masculine and honors him. It is a time of harvest. Masculine energy is beginning to relax, not so much focus on pushing but on allowing more and enjoying what has been accomplished during the fall season. There is a unique balance of force manifesting during this time. Everything seems to be in its place for the most part. There may, however, remain an intellectual restlessness of ‘what might have been’ or ‘what’s left’. Sometimes what appears as boredom is actually the down time needed to consolidate what has already been worked for, allow for re-calibration and enjoy what’s been created. It is a time of refinement so Feminine Force is again inspiring.
