US President Donald Trump said North Korea no longer poses a nuclear threat. This was disclosed on Wednesday (13/06/2018) local time, upon returning from a summit meeting in Singapore with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The summit was the first between the US president and the North Korean leader. Last year, North Korea continued its nuclear and missile tests resulting in a nervous war between Trump and Kim that sparked fears of war.

"Everyone can now feel much safer than the day I was new," Trump said on Twitter.

"There is no more nuclear threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un is an exciting and very positive experience, North Korea has great potential for the future! "He continued.

On Tuesday (12/06/2018), Trump said during a press conference after the summit he wanted to lift sanctions against North Korea but this can not happen soon.

On the other hand, North Korean media praised the summit as a huge success by saying Trump declared its intention to stop the US-South Korean military drill.

It also said Trump offered security guarantees to North Korea and lifted sanctions against him when the relationship had improved.

Kim and Trump invited each other to their respective countries and the two leaders "gladly accepted," the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

Trump said the United States would stop military training with South Korea while North Korea's denuclearization negotiations were made.

"We save money by not doing war games, as long as we negotiate in good faith!" he said on Twitter.

US Senator Lindsey Graham said Trump's reason for stopping the practice was ridiculous.

"It brings stability. It is a warning to China that they can not take over the whole territory. So I refuse the analysis that the cost is too expensive, but I accept the proposition, let's retreat [on military training] and see if we can find a better way here, "Lindsey said.

Speaking in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said he hopes all parties can understand the moment of positive change on the Asian peninsula and take constructive steps toward political resolution and promote denuclearization.

Currently, everyone sees North Korea has stopped nuclear and missile tests. The United States and South Korea should limit their military actions, this has been de facto approved of China's double suspension proposal, "Shuang said at a daily news briefing.

China, North Korea's main ally, last year proposed what it called "double suspension", that North Korea suspended nuclear and missile tests, and South Korea and the United States suspended military drills.
