KPK Fight Corruption in Aceh

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), which is revealing a case of corruption in Aceh and conducting an examination of a number of officials from several government agencies in Aceh, received full support from the Ombudsman of the Aceh Representative.

Head of Ombudsman RI Representative of Aceh, Dr. Taqwaddin Husin SH SE MS, even said, it hopes KPK can reveal corruption cases in Aceh to the roots in various fields.

Ombudsman RI Aceh Representative is very supportive of efforts that are being done by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in eradicating corruption in Aceh so far. "We hope KPK can reveal corruption cases in Aceh to its roots," Taqwaddin said, Saturday (7/21).

According to him, whoever he is involved in cases of corruption and misuse of state money, whether from the executive, legislative, judiciary or by other state institutions, should be fully disclosed, so that people are not harmed.

"It must be prosecuted and prosecuted by the perpetrators, either by the executive, legislative, judicative or by other state institutions," Taqwaddin stressed, through his written statement.

Taqwaddin, who is also a lecturer in law faculty (FH) of Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah), hopes that the KPK will continue its work closely without being affected by the current issues in Aceh, whether the protests demanding the release of suspects in corruption cases and bombing issues.

According to him, the problem let the other law enforcement business overcome it, the KPK should still focus on the settlement of corruption cases. Because the Center has been very much poured money into Aceh. "Therefore, it must be really used for the people for the welfare so that there is no imbalance and social conflict," he said.

He said the high rate of poverty and unemployment is the fact that large and large financial authorities have not been able to improve the welfare of Aceh people evenly proportionately.

"I think the KPK needs to deepen and reveal this issue. All those who are related to corruption must be thoroughly examined both now and in previous years, "Taqwaddin hoped.

He also stated that the Aceh Working Units (SKPA) and technical agencies in Aceh to be more careful in the use of the budget, not just the origin of spending it. But it must be legally accountable.

"We see this is a good process for the benefit of the people in the future, with the decline of the KPK to Aceh even to the district level, so that the flow of funds in Aceh becomes more controlled and more optimal use," explained Taqwaddin.

He conveyed that the problem proved or not the problem of corruption of Aceh Special Autonomy Fund (DOKA) in 2018 involving suspects of Aceh non-active governor, Irwandi Yusuf just waiting for the results of the examination alone.

"The problem proved or not the problem of corruption DOKA by the Governor of Aceh we wait for the results, we must all respect the ongoing legal efforts," he hoped.

He also requested that all parties prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence until a verdict of permanent judgment declares a person guilty. "Therefore, let stop bullying to the suspects being detained by the KPK," said Taqwaddin Husin.
