Geagea rejects working with Syrian gov't to return refugees

In an interview with the German Media Agency (DPA), the Lebanese Forces leader stressed the need for the return of Syrian refugees to Syria, as Lebanon is unable to shoulder this burden.

Geagea stated that the return of Syrian refugees requires a Lebanese sovereign decision, in coordination with the refugees and international bodies concerned by this return, noting that any coordination with the Syrian government will hinder the return of these refugees.

The Lebanese Forces leader recently slammed attempts by member of the Lebanese government to work with the Syrian government, as he alleges they have no legitimacy.

Geagea has been a staunch opponent of the Syrian government and Hezbollah for decades and he continues to blame them for Lebanon's problems.
