Turkey makes big compromise on Idlib after militants suffer many setbacks: report

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:45 P.M.) - A senior Syrian legislator said this week that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has in his recent visit to Russia made big compromises over Idlib. Safwan al-Qorbi, the representative for the Idlib Governorate in the Syrian parliament, told the Arabic-language Al-Watan newspaper on Monday that Erdogan is in a bottleneck politically on the situation of Idlib. He underlined Russia's role in harnessing Turkey's uncontrollable performance in Idlib, and said the Turkish convoys were attacked in the countryside of Idlib and the residents of these regions blame the militant groups and Ankara for their dire conditions.... BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) - A Fox News report that was released on Tuesday alleged that Iran is building a massive military base inside of Syria. According to the report, the Iranian military compound is being constructed between the Syrian city of Albukamal and Iraqi city of Al-Qa'im. Russian military upgrades Hmeimim Airbase in western Syria

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 P.M.) - The Russian military will be upgrading the Hmeimim Airbase and Tartous Naval Base in the coming weeks as part of a Defense Ministry initiative to improve these installations. According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the military will push ahead with their efforts to improve the infrastructure at the Hmeimim Airbase and Tartous Naval Base. Israeli military attacked several sites inside southern Lebanon

The Israeli Defence Forces confirmed Sunday that they were firing at targets inside southern Lebanon after a volley of anti-tank missiles had targeted an Israeli military base and vehicles near the border area. ISIS carries out rare attack against Syrian Army troops in Daraa

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 A.m.) - The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) has carried out a new ambush against the Syrian military this week, targeting their forces inside the Daraa Governorate. According to a military report, the Islamic State carried out the ambush along the Hirak-Izraa Road; this resulted in the death of one soldier. The Islamic State would later claim responsibility for this attack in the Daraa Governorate. The attack by the Islamic State on Monday marked the first time since they lost the Yarmouk Basin that their sleeper cells have attacked the Syrian Army in Daraa.
