I wonder how many other states and/or countries collect newborns DNA? Here in the US for a couple decades all newborns get a thyroid test (T4 at least) & other screens for inborn errors of metabolism, etc. I would imagine that’s how the DNA is being collected. The saturated test cards are sent to the State Health Dept Lab (here inSD anyway). We used to do the testing in the hospital lab but for some unknown reason they changed it...
