What untenable position ? Israel has and continues to be the aggressor, attempting to fulfill it's goal that is the Greater Israel project. Israel's excuses for it's aggression are utterly irrational. Iran does not have a nuclear program and is not an existential threat to Israel. Listen to former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy and even his successors (the late) Meir Dagan and even Tamir Pardo. The threat to Israel comes from within, from it's own extremism.
